Frequently Asked Questions
Q: HOW LONG WILL THIS COURSE TAKE?
A: College-Ready Writing Essentials—Classroom Edition is designed as a five-week module. However, this online version of the course can be adjusted according to your unique instructional needs...so move through it more quickly, or take more time, according to your classroom's schedule. You will receive access for up to 30 students for 1 year—across any and all devices they use—so you can decide when to start and finish, and how best to proceed.
Q: HOW HARD IS COLLEGE-READY ESSENTIALS?
A: This is a reasonably rigorous course, by design. Studies show that academic rigor prior to college is perhaps THE most important factor in preparing students for college success. Many high school graduates are inadequately prepared for college precisely because their high school curriculum was not demanding enough. It's important to note, though, that being prepared for college means being READY to learn at the college level—NOT already adept at college-level work. So...while College-Ready Writing Essentials—Classroom Edition is challenging, it's also understood that students may be unfamiliar with some of the things they'll be asked to do, and that they are just starting out.
Q: HOW DO I KNOW COLLEGE-READY WRITING ESSENTIALS WILL HELP MY STUDENT?
A: I designed College-Ready Writing Essentials using deeply-researched, evidence-centered principles...so that families, educators, and students can all have a high degree of confidence that they are focusing on—and acquiring—the competencies most needed for college-level writing success. I've translated and assembled all the key information out there so that you don't have to! If you're interested, you can read about the underlying research and the design of College-Ready Writing Essentials in my White Paper.
Q: WHO CAN I CONTACT WITH QUESTIONS, PROBLEMS, KUDOS?
A: Please email hey@collegereadywriting.com with any of the above!
Q: IS THERE REALLY NO RISK?
A: That's right. If you decide College-Ready Writing Essentials—Classroom Edition isn't a good fit for your students within
30 days of purchase, email the address above and your enrollment fee will be refunded... otherwise you'll enjoy full access for up to 30 students for 1 year.
